PosteMobile: How to Check Residual Credit

Passing to a new telephone operator, perhaps attracted by a particularly advantageous offer, is a common event. Once the transfer of the remaining number and credit is completed, the first need is to verify that everything has gone to good end and to know the balance available on your new SIM card. If you're in this situation with PosteMobile and you don't know how to move, you're in the right place. Don't worry, there are several simple and immediate solutions to control phone credit and manage your user from both your smartphone and your computer. Read on to find out all the details.

Check Residual Credit from Smartphone and Tablet

In the digital age, your mobile device is the main tool to manage every aspect of your daily life, including phone services. PosteMobile offers extremely comfortable options to consult your balance directly from your phone, either through a dedicated application or through simple calls.

The Official App: Your Mobile Control Center

The most complete and intuitive solution for managing your PosteMobile SIM card is the official application, which brings together a wide range of services. In the past, some of these were managed by separate apps, but now everything is merged into a single platform for greater comfort.

To begin with, you must download the application. It is available free of charge on Play Store for Android devices (smartphone and tablet) and onApp Store for iPhone and iPad. If you have a device without Google services, you can find it on compatible alternative stores. Once detected, proceed with installation. On iOS/iPadOS, authentication may be required via Face ID, Touch ID or password of your Apple ID.

After installing the app, open it and tap the button Login. You will be required to authenticate with your account credentials, i.e. username and password. Alternatively, if you configure them, you can use other authentication methods such as PosteID code, fingerprint or facial recognition. If you still don’t have an account, the app allows you to create one by following a wizard.

Once you have access to the application, navigate the main section. Scroll down to find the pane dedicated to Telephone and touch him. Here you will find a practical card that sums up the essential information of your PosteMobile SIM card. At a glance, you can view your phone number, the active offer and, at the bottom right, the voice SIM credit with its residual amount.

Sometimes, for privacy reasons, credit may appear hidden, indicated by asterisks. To view it, tap the icon in the shape of eye located at the top right. If you want to hide it again, just touch the same icon again.

The app is not limited to the simple display of the balance. Touching up Details and then Traffic and reloading, you can access a full account. The card Traffic will show you details of calls, SMS and data consumption, including associated costs. The card Revenue, instead, will provide you with the history of all the reloads made on your SIM card. In this detailed section, you can also find the serial number of your SIM card.

Returning to the main screen of the Telephony section, you will have access to other useful features. The voice Other counters allows you to monitor data traffic consumption, both nationally and internationally and in roaming. Also, you can view and change your tariff plan via the button Customize your plan, make telephone calls (with payment via Postepay or other products) and access to Settings to manage options such as data connection inhibition, voicemail, call transfer and outgoing call restrictions.

Telephone control: Useful numbers

If you prefer a more direct solution, which does not require the installation of apps, PosteMobile provides specific numbers to control the residual credit by calling.

  • Number 40.12. 12: This is the easiest and most immediate channel to know your balance. Take your phone, open the dialer (the application to compose numbers, often with a crocodile icon) and type the 40.12.12. Start the call. After a short welcome message, a registered item will notify you of the amount of your remaining credit and, if relevant, any information about the Gigas or the minutes still available of your offer. At the end, you will have the option to request a summary SMS by pressing the 1 button on the keypad. This service is completely free and operational 24 hours a day, every day of the week, but it is only valid if you call from the SIM PosteMobile you intend to check and only from Italy.

  • Customer service 160: Alternatively, you can contact PosteMobile customer service at number 160. Once you listen to the welcome message, follow the signs of the registered voice. Usually, by pressing the 1 button and then again the 1 button (or the sequence that will be indicated at the moment) you can access the available credit information and active offers. It is always advisable to listen carefully to the instructions, since the key sequence may vary. Also through this channel, after listening to the credit, you can generally request the sending of a summary SMS.

Consult Credit from Computer (Desktop)

If you prefer to operate from a desktop environment, you can easily control PosteMobile credit and manage your line by accessing the personal area on the operator’s official website. Here you will find a complete dashboard with all the information and features you need.

To get started, open the web browser you usually use (such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) and connect to the home page of the PosteMobile website. Once on the page, search and click on the button Login, usually located at the top right.

The system will offer you different login modes:

  • Italian Postal Credentials: Enter your username and password associated with your account in the dedicated fields and repress Login.

  • Posts: If you have activated this authentication system, you can select the option Login with PosteID and proceed with its credentials.

  • Poste Italiane (with QR Code): A practical and secure method is access through the Poste Italian application configured on your mobile device. Select this option, and a QR code will appear on your computer screen. Open the Poste Italian app on your smartphone, tap on QR code pane and scan the displayed code. Complete app authentication (with your PosteID code, fingerprint or facial recognition), then tap Authorization and make further authentication to finalize access to your computer.

Once you have accessed the personal area, make sure you have selected your line of interest via the drop-down menu Choose your number (useful if you have multiple SIM cards connected to the same account). The credit available on your SIM card will be immediately visible at the voice Residual credit.

The personal area offers many other features. Clicking on Credit and traffic, you can view a complete detail of the calls made and the history of the reloads. The section Your SIM card allows you to change the tariff plan and manage your user information. With Counters, you will have a detailed picture of your national and international consumption.

If your remaining credit is insufficient to renew your offer or to make calls and send SMS, you can easily buy an online charge. Select the desired amount via the drop-down menu Reload here and click on the button Charges to proceed with the purchase.

Additional Modes and Tips

In addition to digital and telephone options, for more complex issues or direct assistance, you can always go to one of the many post offices distributed on the national territory. Here you can get information about your SIM card, turn on or off specific services, or sign up for new offers. To optimize time and avoid waiting, remember that you can book an appointment at the desired post office directly through the official app, allowing you to skip the queue and receive a more efficient service.

In summary, controlling PosteMobile credit is a simple and accessible operation through multiple channels. Whether you prefer the convenience of the app, the speed of a call or the completeness of the personal area online, you will always have all the tools to keep your user under control and better manage your consumption.
